Lucknow: Defence Minister and Member of Parliament from Lucknow Rajnath Singh met several delegations from social, religious, and business organisations during his visit to the city. The meetings were held at his official residence at 5-A, Kalidas Marg.
Representatives from various groups expressed their gratitude for the continuous development works being carried out in Lucknow under his leadership. They also discussed local issues and submitted memorandums highlighting key requirements and demands related to their respective areas.
During the interactions, Lucknow Mahanagar President Anand Dwivedi and General Secretary Ghanshyam Das Agrawal were prominently present.
Members of the Lucknow Mahanagar unit welcomed the Defence Minister by presenting him with bouquets and ceremonial shawls. A delegation of newly nominated councillors also met him and conveyed their appreciation.
Among those who met Rajnath Singh were representatives from several organisations, including Uttar Pradesh Sahitya Sabha led by Dr. Sarvesh Asthana; the joint delegation of Uttar Pradesh State University Employees Federation and Employees Teachers Joint Front represented by Sanjay Shukla; Uttar Pradesh Adarsh Vyapar Mandal led by Sanjay Gupta; and Rajajipuram Industrial Trade Association represented by Umesh Kumar Sharma and Saurabh Sharma.
Other delegations included the State Employees Joint Council led by Suresh Rawat and Atul Mishra; Northern Railway Pensioners Association represented by Mahendra Mohan Bhatt and Vijay Kumar Singh; members associated with the State Women Commission including Rajesh Singh and Ritu Sahay; and the Lucknow Guest House and Restaurant Owners Association led by Surendra Sharma.
Delegations from media and business groups such as Rashtriya Sahara represented by Kalanidhi Mishra and Prashant Dixit, as well as Uttar Pradesh Udyog Vyapar Mandal led by Mukund Mishra, were also present.

Representatives from the Diocese of Lucknow Christ Church, including Secretary Rakesh Massey, Minority Morcha President Shadab Alam, Valmiki community representative Ram Singh, Jain community representative Vishal Jain, State General Secretary Ram Pratap Singh, former regional president Mukut Bihari Verma, along with Manish Shukla, Mohan Bhagwat, Raghvendra Pandey, and Puneet Arohi, also participated in the meeting.
The delegations discussed various local issues and urged the Defence Minister to take necessary action on pending matters. Rajnath Singh assured them that appropriate steps would be taken and issued directions for necessary follow-up.
Meets Family of ‘Operation Sindoor’ Martyr
Later, Rajnath Singh met the family of martyr Sunil Kumar, who lost his life during Operation Sindoor. He interacted with the martyr’s wife Sujata Kumari and their children Saurabh and Shivesh, along with other family members.
The Defence Minister enquired about their well-being, offered his condolences, and extended his blessings and support to the bereaved family.
