Mumbai: Ajay Devgn’s much-awaited film De De Pyaar De 2 is all set to return audiences to the world of love, laughter, and family drama. The sequel to the 2019 hit has started off on a promising note at the box office, collecting around ₹1.37 crore in advance bookings ahead of its theatrical release this Friday.
According to trade analysts, the film has sold over 5,300 tickets for Day 1 shows so far. As per industry tracker estimates, it has earned ₹19.13 lakh through organic ticket sales, with the rest coming from bulk and block bookings. The Delhi-NCR and Maharashtra circuits have recorded the strongest pre-release numbers, standing at ₹34.12 lakh and ₹31.51 lakh respectively.
Directed by Anshul Sharma, the sequel continues the story of Ashish (Ajay Devgn) and Ayesha (Rakul Preet Singh) as they navigate new relationship challenges. This time, Ashish must win over Ayesha’s parents — played by R. Madhavan and Gautami Kapoor — leading to a series of comic and emotional twists.
The supporting cast also includes Meezaan Jafri, who reportedly plays a key role in complicating the love story, giving the narrative a youthful edge.
The trailer of De De Pyaar De 2 has been well received by fans and critics alike, setting expectations for a strong opening weekend. The film is produced by Luv Ranjan, known for his trademark mix of wit and romance, and promises to stay true to the tone of the original while exploring fresh emotional conflicts.

Meanwhile, the newly released romantic track ‘Raat Bhar’, sung by Aditya Rikhari and Payal Dev, has quickly gained popularity online. Featuring Rakul Preet Singh and Meezaan Jafri, the song captures the warmth of young love through soothing melodies and vibrant visuals.
The first De De Pyaar De, which starred Ajay Devgn, Tabu, and Rakul Preet Singh, had earned over ₹104 crore at the domestic box office. With the sequel’s solid pre-release buzz and the addition of new faces, trade experts are expecting De De Pyaar De 2 to open with healthy weekend numbers.
De De Pyaar De 2 releases in theatres on November 14, 2025.
