David Warner makes a unique U – Turn

New Delhi: David Warner, a former opener for Australia, has stated his desire to make an unexpected comeback to the national team for the Test series against India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Warner said that if the senior national men’s team needs him, he is willing to participate in the Border-Gavasakar Trophy.

Beginning on November 22, India will embark on a five-match Test series trip to Australia, with the first game to be played in Perth

Warner said that if he is required to start the batting for Australia against India in the crucial home series, he is ready to participate in the Sheffield Shield, Australia’s top domestic red-ball competition.

“I’m always available; you just need to call me.” I never take myself lightly. I’ve essentially had the same preparation because, let’s face it, the boys have only played one red ball game (the first round of the shield) since their previous Test matches in February.

“To be honest, I would be more than willing to play the next Shield game and go out there and play if they really required me for this series. I wanted to complete the game; therefore, I did retire for the proper reasons. However, if they are in dire need of someone, I’m willing to help. Warner told NewsCorp, “I won’t back down from it.

“I’ve sent both a cheeky message. “You retired,” was Torch’s (McDonald) response when I talked with him.

“I don’t believe he wants to give me the pleasure of hearing him ask if he can return,” Warner said.

In Test matches, the Australian squad has been searching for a reliable opening partner for Usman Khawaja.

The crucial opening post is once again unfilled as selection committee head George Bailey said that Steve Smith would no longer be available and will instead take his No. 4 berth.

Surprisingly, Australia moved Smith up the order when Warner retired, but the top batsman found it difficult in the position and only managed 171 runs at an average of 28.50 in four Test matches.

Warner has even maintained the possibility of competing in the 2025 Champions Trophy despite having also retired from ODI cricket.
