Lucknow: The ongoing summer workshop at Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya is witnessing enthusiastic participation in both dance and music training, alongside a special nine-day Yoga Dialogue Programme. Organized under the guidance of Governor of Uttar Pradesh for International Yoga Day, the yoga sessions are led by yogacharya Prashant Shukla.
Students, teachers, and participants from all walks of life are learning various yoga asanas, pranayama, and techniques like yoga nidra, ashtanga yoga, and naad yoga. Morning dance and music sessions are followed by reflective yoga practices, highlighting the complementary relationship between dance and yoga — both symbolized in Lord Shiva’s postures.
Shukla emphasized that yoga and dance are integral to India’s spiritual heritage, and was delighted with the overwhelming response. Vice Chancellor Prof. Mandavi Singh stressed that yoga is a vital part of Indian culture, while Registrar Dr. Srishti Dhawan highlighted the personalized training offered. The university plans several events leading up to International Yoga Day on June 21.
