Lucknow : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s Mukhyamantri Samuhik Vivah Yojana has brought about significant positive changes in the lives of economically disadvantaged communities, particularly among backward, Dalit, and minority families in Uttar Pradesh.
Launched in 2017, the scheme has not only proven to be a blessing for the daughters of these communities but has also fostered social harmony and inclusiveness. To date, the Yogi government has successfully facilitated the marriages of over 4 lakh girls from underprivileged backgrounds, ensuring that each marriage is conducted with complete respect and in accordance with customs.
This initiative has exposed the shortcomings of political parties that once thrived on the support of backward, Dalit, and minority communities but failed to implement tangible developmental work for their benefit. The scheme has demonstrated that true empowerment of society comes not through empty promises, but decisive action.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s efforts have become an inspiration not only for Uttar Pradesh but for the entire nation. His focus on development and inclusivity exemplifies his government’s commitment to the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.”
The success of the Mukhyamantri Samuhik Vivah Yojana is clearly reflected in the numbers, underscoring its positive impact on backwards, Dalit, and minority communities. To date, over 2.20 lakh girls from Dalit families, 1.30 lakh from backward families, and more than 40,000 from minority families have benefitted from the scheme. Additionally, around 16,000 families from the general category have also availed themselves of this initiative.
This scheme not only fulfills the dream of marriage for daughters from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, but it also provides them with social and economic security. Each couple receives financial assistance of Rs 51,000 for the wedding, which covers essential marriage items, cash deposits in the bride’s account, and event arrangements.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has consistently demonstrated, over his seven and a half years in office, that empowering marginalized communities is his top priority. Through this scheme, he is ensuring that all sections of society, especially the backward, Dalit, and minority communities, are integrated into the mainstream and receive concrete support for their development. This commitment is reflected in the Yogi government’s investment of over Rs 2,200 lakh in the scheme so far.
The greatest benefit of the Mukhyamantri Samuhik Vivah Yojana is that it provides equal opportunities to all, transcending caste and religious boundaries. Marriages are conducted according to the religious customs of the families involved, whether they are Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, or Christian, promoting social harmony and unity.
The Mukhyamantri Samuhik Vivah Yojana has provided relief to impoverished families and opened the door to a brighter future for their daughters. The scheme has not only provided financial support to underprivileged families but has also catalyzed positive social change.
Mass marriage ceremonies bring together people from diverse sections of society, fostering social harmony and unity. This initiative by the Yogi government has become a beacon of hope for families previously burdened by the responsibility of marrying off their daughters. Beyond financial assistance, the scheme restores dignity and self-respect to their lives.
The Yogi government’s scheme has brought a renewed sense of hope to these communities, empowering individuals and making their lives more self-sufficient. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ensured that even the most marginalized sections of society are fully included in the state’s development, securing their place in the mainstream.
