Ravindra Kesari

Singrauli: Vigilance Awareness Week was celebrated at NTPC Singrauli, Sonbhadra. In which various competitions and social awareness activities were also organized by the vigilance department of the project. In this regard, the Project Head of NTPC Singrauli, Shri Rajiv Akotkar administered oath to all his officers, employees, CISF unit and contract workers to adopt the culture of integrity and to work continuously for the prosperity of the nation. During this, various competitions were also organized at NTPC Singrauli, which included essay writing, slogan competition, online quiz, short story writing, painting, speech, dance, etc.

At the end of the week, one evening a drama program was also organized at the local Employee Development Center to promote moral behavior against corruption in the society and in the minds of the people, titled “Saiyan Bhaye Kotwal”, this folk drama in Marathi language by Marathi writer Basant Sabnis is named “Viccha Bhaji Poori Kara”. Which has been translated into Hindi by Usha Banerjee under the name “Saiyaan Bhaye Kotwal”. The contemporary problem of nepotism or in other words “The blind distribute the sweets – give to their own people” is proved in the play. Today, nepotism is a big problem not only in our state or country but in the entire world and due to this problem, corruption increases.

If we work by sacrificing our personal interests and do not misuse our position, then the society can become better. We should appoint only a capable person to the position, no matter who he is. By doing this, we can reduce corruption to a great extent. If, after getting the power, we benefit the ineligible people, then we will have to face corruption and in this situation, we will neither be able to fight corruption nor oppose it. Rather, we will keep sinking further in the quagmire of corruption. This play was skillfully directed by Gyaneshwar Mishra (Gyani).

NTPC is committed to educate the masses through this initiative and promote strong commitment towards integrity. At the end of the programme prizes were distributed to all the participants by the Chief Guest.

The entire weekly programme was conducted under the able leadership of Shri Susobhan Das, Additional General Manager, Vigilance Department.
