Lucknow: Avadh Ladies Club organized a vibrant Culinary Competition, celebrating traditional flavors and regional delicacies. Fourteen enthusiastic members of the club participated, each bringing a self-prepared dish — either sweet or savory — showcasing their creativity, presentation, and taste.
The dishes were evaluated by Nidhi Gupta and Premlata Gupta, both well-known culinary experts who run reputed hotels and restaurants. The judges praised the participants for their innovation and skill in blending traditional recipes with artistic presentation.
The competition featured a wide range of dishes — from Awadhi classics to regional specialties. Anjali prepared Awadhi Chawal ki Kheer, Manju Rai made Awadhi Fara, Meenakshi Mishra impressed everyone with Cabbage Kheer, Madhu Mathur presented a Maharashtrian dish Kothimbir Vadi, while Ragini Agarwal brought the traditional Bihari Thekua. Rekha Agarwal made Matar ki Kheer, Jyoti Ratan presented an Herbal Sweet Paan, Chitra Srivastava made Cupcakes, Kiran Dayal cooked Bihari Sakroori, Shashi Pandey prepared Bhapa Dhoi, Indu Saraswat presented Apple Jalebi, Mridula Pandey made Gobhi ki Kheer, and Asha Tiwari delighted all with Chhena Barfi.
The event was compered by Archana Gupta, while Padma Gidwani, Jyoti Kaul, Manorama Mishra, Pratima Bajpai, and Vimla Pant assisted in coordination.

After careful judgment, Ragini Agarwal and Meenakshi Mishra were declared First Prize Winners for Thekua and Cabbage Kheer, respectively. The Second Prize went to Shashi Pandey for Spongy Dahi and Mridula Pandey for Gobhi ki Kheer. The Third Prize was awarded to Rekha Agarwal for Matar ki Kheer and Manju Rai for Awadhi Fara.
Consolation prizes were also given to several participants for their unique efforts. The competition concluded with hearty applause and camaraderie among members, reflecting the club’s continuing spirit of cultural bonding and culinary excellence.
