Lucknow: Cricket enthusiasts gathered in large numbers on Sunday morning to participate in the LSG Run – ‘Run for India’ Marathon, organised by Lucknow Super Giants, celebrating both the spirit of the T20 World Cup final and International Women’s Day.
The multi-category marathon began from 1090 Chauraha, where participants including youth, children, senior citizens and specially-abled runners showed tremendous enthusiasm. The event aimed to spread the message of patriotism, fitness, unity and women empowerment among the people of the city.
The marathon was organised in three categories to encourage participation across all age groups. The 10 km run was flagged off at 6:30 AM, followed by the 5 km run at 7:00 AM, and a 3 km run for children and senior citizens at 7:15 AM. All participants were also provided with the new LSG jersey before the start of the event.

The run was flagged off by Anubha Rastogi, wife of JK Cement’s Zonal Head Anshu Rastogi, Prashant Singh, Business Organiser (Lucknow) at JK Cement, and Neha Losalka from RPSG Sports.
The 10 km route started from 1090 Chauraha, passed through Ambedkar Park, and concluded at Janeshwar Mishra Park. Refreshments were arranged for the runners along the route. A lively Zumba fitness session was also organised during the event, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Participants also extended their greetings on the occasion of International Women’s Day, celebrating the spirit of women empowerment.


Winners Announced
In the women’s category, Anshika Yadav, Ruby, Harshita, Dr. Chitij, Pooja Singh and Niharika Pandey, Tanya Singh, Pramila Singh, Kamini Singh, Kalpana, Palak were awarded trophies.
In the men’s category, Shubham Yadav, Ravi Pal, Noshad Ali, Anand Karan, RP Singh, Akash Tandon and Saksham, Ankit, Abhay Kumar, Sharvan Babbar, Uma Shankar were declared winners and presented with trophies.
In addition, the first and second runners-up were also awarded trophies, while all participants received medals for their enthusiastic participation
