Washington: Peter David, a prolific writer with a career spanning comics, novels, and television, has passed away at the age of 68. He had been battling health issues for several years. His wife, Kathleen O’Shea David, confirmed his passing in a heartfelt message on Facebook, writing, “Peter David passed away last night. We are devastated. More when I can write about it.”
David was widely recognized for his influential 12-year tenure on The Incredible Hulk, where he delved deep into Bruce Banner’s psychological complexities. His portrayal of the character brought a layered approach to the Hulk-Banner dynamic, often interpreted as a metaphor for dissociative identity disorder. His work had a lasting impact, even influencing Ang Lee’s 2003 Hulk film. David’s contributions to the series earned him an Eisner Award in 1992.
Beyond the Hulk, David left his mark on titles such as Aquaman, Young Justice, Supergirl, and The Sensational Spider-Man, gaining praise for his storytelling across various characters and publishers.

In addition to comics, he was active in other media. He co-created Space Cases for Nickelodeon, which featured a young Jewel Staite, later known for her roles in Firefly and Family Law. David also contributed scripts to television series like Babylon 5, Ben 10: Alien Force, and Young Justice.
His legacy spans decades and genres, leaving an indelible imprint on fans and the industry alike.
