Lucknow: Zone-5 Zonal Officer Nandkishore received an urgent report on Thursday morning that a cow had fallen into a tank located in a vacant plot near Hanuman Mandir, Ali Nagar Sunhara, Krishna Nagar area.
The incident came to light when a local resident, Sujit Kumar, lodged a complaint with the municipal corporation stating that late at night, a cow had accidentally fallen into the tank built on the vacant land and was unable to get out on its own.
Acting promptly on the information, Zonal Officer Nandkishore contacted the Municipal Control Room and dispatched a rescue team to the location. Upon arrival, the team initiated a rescue operation using special equipment, and after several hours of efforts, the cow was safely rescued.
Following the rescue, the injured and frightened cow was sent to Kanha Upvan under the supervision of the municipal authorities, where it is currently being treated and cared for.
Zonal Officer Nandkishore stated that the incident occurred due to the broken boundary and open tank in the vacant plot. He emphasized that such negligence poses a serious risk not only to animals but also to the safety of residents in the vicinity.

A formal notice has been issued to the owner of the plot, directing them to repair the broken boundary wall and cover the open tank immediately to prevent any such incidents in the future.
The Municipal Corporation has appealed to citizens to ensure that their private plots or construction sites are properly secured, open tanks are covered, and cleanliness is maintained in and around their property. Such carelessness can lead to major accidents at any time.
Thanks to the swift and sensitive action taken by the municipal team and the leadership of Zonal Officer Nandkishore, a serious mishap was averted and the cow was rescued in time. Local residents appreciated the timely response and responsible effort shown by the authorities.
Lucknow Municipal Corporation reiterated its commitment to public and animal safety and stated that such actions will continue to ensure a secure and safe environment for all.
