Cow conservation a hot button topic in Yogi’s U.P.

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh’s Animal Husbandry Minister  Dharmpal Singh  virtually inaugurated 12 large cow conservation centers in 06 districts for the protection of the destitute cows of the state in a program organized at the Animal Husbandry Directorate.

03 in Moradabad district, 03 in Baghpat, 01 in Jalaun, 02 in Mathura, 01 in Unnao and 02 in Amethi, 100% construction of large cow conservation centers has been completed.

The state government has spent Rs 160.12 lakh per center i.e. Rs 1921.44 lakh in the construction of these centers. About 400 cows can be protected in each center.

On this occasion, the Animal Husbandry Minister talked to the Chief Veterinary Officers of the concerned districts and directed that the work of cow conservation should be done with full seriousness and sensitivity and all necessary arrangements should be ensured.  Singh said that under the guidance of the Chief Minister of the state, the protection and promotion of destitute cows is being done continuously.  Our main objective is to increase the income of cattle keepers and farmers and in this direction, meaningful and commendable work is being done continuously by the department.

The Livestock Minister said that the protection of destitute cattle is the priority of the Yogi government.  Singh said that animal husbandry plays an important role in the income of farmers. Cattle also have an important contribution in improving the lives of cattle keepers by strengthening the rural economy. Animal husbandry will increase along with agricultural work. While directing the departmental officers, he said that the benefits of the schemes of the department should be made available to the farmers and cattle keepers and the schemes should be widely publicized.

On this occasion, Principal Secretary Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development  Ravindra said that under the leadership of  Chief Minister and guidance of Animal Husbandry Development Minister  Dharampal Singh, the department is continuously protecting the destitute cattle in cow shelters.

He said that in view of the health and productivity of livestock, vaccination work is being done regularly. He said that the benefits of all the schemes of the department will be provided to the farmers and cattle keepers.

Special Secretary of Animal Husbandry Department  Devendra Pandey, Director, Administration and Development of Animal Husbandry Department Dr. Raghunath Singh, Director Disease Control Field Dr. P.N. Singh, Additional Director Dr. Jayakesh Kumar Pandey and Additional Director Dr. Arvind Kumar Singh and senior officers of the department were present in the program.
