Mumbai: It looks like the “Scream” franchise is gearing up for another thrilling installment with “Scream 7,” slated for release on February 27, 2026. The upcoming film will bring back some familiar faces, including Courteney Cox as the sharp-witted reporter Gale Weathers, alongside Neve Campbell (Sidney Prescott) and Mason Gooding (Chad Meeks-Martin). Additionally, the cast has been expanded with Isabel May, Anna Camp, Sam Rechner, Mckenna Grace, Asa Germann, and Celeste O’Connor joining the lineup.
The Scream 7 movie is being helmed by Kevin Williamson, the creator of the franchise, and is based on a screenplay by Guy Busick. Williamson, who was behind the first Scream film, is working with James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, and Paul Neinstein, who were also involved in the previous two films in the series. The production underwent significant changes after Jenna Ortega’s departure, the firing of Melissa Barrera, and Christopher Landon leaving as director.
The Scream franchise, which began with Wes Craven’s iconic 1996 film, has become a cultural touchstone, with the latest film, Scream 6, becoming the highest-grossing entry in the series. The storyline of Scream 7 remains under wraps, adding to the suspense and anticipation for the next chapter in the Ghostface saga.
As for Cox, she recently starred in Starz’s Shining Vale, alongside Greg Kinnear. Fans of the series can look forward to seeing how the story evolves under Williamson’s direction as the “Scream” saga continues to captivate horror fans worldwide.
