Islamabad: The horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam has triggered a palpable fear in Pakistan, with the nation dreading India’s military preparations for a retaliatory response. This fear has driven Pakistan into a state of desperation, leading it to seek help from other countries. In a bid to garner sympathy and peddle its narrative, Pakistan hastily convened a closed-door meeting at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). However, this move backfired spectacularly, resulting in further humiliation for the neighboring country.
Pakistan’s Lies Unravel at UNSC
Following the closed-door consultations, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, resorted to his usual tactic of spreading falsehoods, claiming that the meeting had achieved its intended purpose. He even audaciously stated that the resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir issue was discussed during the session. However, as the full picture emerged, Pakistan’s deceit was laid bare.

During the confidential meeting, Pakistan faced tough questions regarding the Pahalgam attack. It was even strongly reprimanded for the involvement of the Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist organization in the heinous act. UNSC member states unequivocally rejected Pakistan’s “false flag” narrative against India, a tactic employed by Pakistan to portray itself as a victim while targeting India.
Even China Refuses to Stand By

Most surprisingly, permanent UNSC members like the United States, France, Russia, and the United Kingdom grilled Pakistan with pointed questions. Adding to Pakistan’s discomfiture, its supposed “all-weather friend,” China, also refrained from offering any support, shattering Pakistan’s misplaced confidence. Pakistan, being a non-permanent member of the UNSC, had requested the closed-door meeting in this capacity.

According to sources, member states not only strongly condemned the Pahalgam terrorist attack but also raised concerns about the targeting of tourists based on their religion. Several countries also questioned Pakistan’s recent missile tests and nuclear threats, labeling them as provocative actions. Pakistan attempted to revert to its old strategy of seeking third-party intervention in the matter. However, member states firmly asserted that it was a bilateral issue and refused any form of mediation.
No Resolution, No Statement, Just Humiliation
The closed-door meeting at the United Nations Security Council yielded no concrete outcome, instead exposing Pakistan to further international embarrassment. No resolution was proposed, and no statement was issued by any country following the deliberations. Only Pakistan remains engaged in its futile attempts to peddle lies on the global stage. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres had recently appealed to both sides to de-escalate tensions, following which Pakistan requested this closed-door meeting.
The underlying reason for Pakistan’s frantic appeal for a UNSC meeting was its palpable fear of an imminent retaliatory attack from India. In a desperate attempt to avoid military action, Pakistan hastily sought the UNSC’s intervention, hoping that other nations would urge India to exercise restraint. Pakistan cited the growing tensions in South Asia as the reason for convening the meeting. However, this desperate maneuver has also failed spectacularly, leaving Pakistan cornered and utterly humiliated on the international stage.
