Barabanki: A major event was organized by the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee at Gram Reharya, Post Sonouli, Block Banikodar, in the Darayabad Assembly constituency of Barabanki district, as part of the ongoing nationwide campaign “Jai Bapu-Jai Bhim-Jai Constitution.” The event was a Constitution Maha-Sammelan (Grand Conference), which aimed to emphasize the importance of the Constitution and its ideals.
The event was attended by prominent leaders including Ajay Rai, President of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee and former minister, Tanuj Puniya, Chairman of the Scheduled Castes Department of the Uttar Pradesh Congress, and other state-level office-bearers. The event was organized by Abdullah Sher Khan, a member of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee. The program commenced with floral tributes to the portraits of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution.
During his address, Ajay Rai expressed the significance of the “Jai Bapu-Jai Bhim-Jai Constitution” program, saying that it has become necessary in the present times because ever since the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came to power, there has been a continuous attack on Dr. Ambedkar’s Constitution.
He accused the BJP of wanting to alter the Constitution to implement the ideology of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Rai further asserted that the BJP and its leaders harbor disdain for Dr. Ambedkar and the Constitution, which was evident when Union Home Minister Amit Shah insulted Dr. Ambedkar in Parliament.
Rai condemned Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks, saying that it exposed the BJP’s anti-Constitutional stance. He called on the Congress party to stand firm and resist any attempts to undermine the Constitution, adding that in the upcoming elections, the BJP must be taught a lesson with the strength of the people’s votes, reaffirming that the Constitution remains the foundation of the nation.

The Uttar Pradesh Congress President also highlighted that the public is concerned with essential issues such as education, healthcare, and employment, but the BJP government keeps diverting attention by stoking hatred among the masses.
Tanuj Puniya, Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Scheduled Caste Department, spoke next, emphasizing that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is tirelessly fighting for social justice and the protection of the Constitution. He mentioned that Gandhi is following in the footsteps of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Ambedkar to safeguard their values and ideals.
Puniya also criticized the misuse of constitutional institutions under the Modi government, calling it dangerous for the nation and democracy. He alleged that the BJP’s intention is to change the Constitution and implement policies of hatred and injustice, against which Congress workers will continue to fight until the end.
The program saw the presence of several other distinguished leaders including AICC Member Lallan Kumar, former Barabanki District President Mohsin Khan, Rajendra Pratap Singh, Bhanu Verma, Pintu Shukla, Bhasm Prasad Mishra, Mithlesh Gautam, and many others, who collectively pledged to uphold the ideals of the Constitution and fight for social justice. The event was a strong statement of Congress’ commitment to defending the Constitution and promoting the values of equality and social justice envisioned by Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
