Congress Organises Holi Milan Ceremony in Lucknow, Leaders Emphasise Unity and Brotherhood

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee organised a Holi Milan ceremony in the state capital to mark the upcoming festival of Holi, celebrating the spirit of love, harmony and brotherhood.

The event was attended by Avinash Pande, National General Secretary of the Indian National Congress and party in-charge for Uttar Pradesh, who was the chief guest. Also present was Ajay Rai, President of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee and former minister.

A large number of Congress leaders, office-bearers and party workers participated in the programme. Participants greeted each other by applying abir and gulal, exchanging warm wishes and celebrating the festival together.

Addressing the gathering, Avinash Pande said that India’s cultural tradition has always been rooted in mutual respect, love and brotherhood. He added that the festival of Holi inspires people to forget differences and strengthen unity and harmony in society.

Speaking on the occasion, Ajay Rai said that Holi symbolises the Ganga-Jamuni culture of India, reflecting the country’s tradition of communal harmony and shared cultural heritage. He urged party workers to celebrate the festival collectively and take a pledge to further strengthen the spirit of love and brotherhood in society.

Rai also called on party workers to reach out to the public and promote the policies and ideology of the Congress party, while contributing to maintaining peace and harmony across the state.

Several senior Congress leaders and party officials were present at the event, including P. L. Punia, former Member of Parliament, national secretary Dhiraj Gurjar, and other prominent leaders such as Tauqeer Alam, Ameer Haider, Kamla Kishore Commando, and Ambar Rizvi, among many others.

District Congress Committee Lucknow President Rudra Daman Singh and City Congress Committee Lucknow President Amit Srivastava Tyagi were also present along with a large number of party workers and supporters.

The programme concluded with leaders and workers applying colours, exchanging greetings and embracing each other, symbolising the festive spirit of unity and harmony associated with the festival of Holi.
