Congress demands resignation of Amit Shah

Lucknow: The Congress party held a press conference at its state headquarters, expressing strong opposition to the alleged insult of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution. Senior Congress leaders demanded the resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the controversy.

Leaders Speak Out

Addressing the media, former Union Minister Salman Khurshid stated, “The BJP leaders’ disrespect toward Baba Saheb exposes their anti-constitutional mindset. Congress members will vehemently oppose this insult and expose the BJP’s mentality to the public.”

MP Pramod Tiwari reiterated the concerns raised by the “INDIA alliance,” claiming the BJP harbors intentions to amend the Constitution. Highlighting recent events in Parliament, he alleged that BJP’s disdain for Dr. Ambedkar is now evident, marking this period as a “dark chapter in history.”

Congress MP Kishori Lal Sharma accused the BJP of conspiring to erase Dr. Ambedkar’s contributions and undermine the Constitution. He referred to incidents in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha as evidence of a deliberate strategy.

MP Rakesh Rathore declared that Congress would not tolerate any insult to Dr. Ambedkar or the Constitution. Announcing action plans, he said, “Tomorrow, the party will organize a ‘Baba Saheb Ambedkar Samman March’ across the state and hold village meetings to expose BJP’s anti-Dalit mindset.”

Action Plans and Key Statements

The event also saw participation from Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai, Media Department Chairman Dr. C.P. Rai, state spokesperson Priyanka Gupta, and other senior leaders.

Congress leaders condemned the BJP’s actions, calling them a threat to democracy and the Constitution. They held Prime Minister Narendra Modi accountable for the controversy and demanded a public apology.

Future Strategies

To ensure widespread awareness, the Congress party plans to:

  1. Conduct marches in all districts emphasizing respect for Dr. Ambedkar.
  2. Organize village meetings (Chaupals) to discuss BJP’s alleged disregard for Dalits and constitutional values.
  3. Mobilize public support against the BJP’s perceived anti-Constitutional stance.

The Congress emphasized its commitment to protecting democratic principles and vowed to fight any attempts to undermine the legacy of Dr. Ambedkar.

This press conference marks the beginning of a statewide campaign to challenge what Congress describes as BJP’s deliberate disregard for the values enshrined in the Constitution.
