Lucknow: Addressing a press conference at the UP Congress Committee headquarters, All India Congress Committee General Secretary and former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, MLA, said that a few days ago a report was published in which there was a discussion of a scam regarding the relationship between the SEBI Chairman and the Adani Group, the matter of involvement was exposed, the factual report was delayed in the investigation conducted by SEBI and the Central Government refused to accept it.
The Congress Party, Rahul and India Alliance have demanded a JPC investigation into this matter. Our demand is that according to the report, the scam of thousands of crores should be investigated by the JPC and the SEBI Chairman should resign until the investigation is completed.
Sachin Pilot said that the Supreme Court took suo motu cognizance and asked the Central Government to investigate it. Now the question is what will be the fairness and quality of the investigation from the person who is a suspect in this case? There is a discussion in the whole country and the world that the husband of the SEBI chairman does business with people in which the SEBI chairman himself is a suspect.
In such a situation, Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge and all the members of the India Alliance have demanded a JPC because through JPC, the facts of the scam mentioned in the report can be reached. It is a scam of thousands of crores of rupees and the Hon’ble Supreme Court said that there should be a factual investigation of it. No one can deny the truth but the Central Government is silent. This mixed game has been going on for 10 years and if such a serious allegation has been made on such an institution of the country which monitors the country’s investment, then it should be investigated by JPC.
The Prime Minister and the Central Government talk about transparency but do not talk about what has been happening in the last 10 years, they only talk about defaming the Congress Party, opposition parties and Nehru ji. The ports and airports of the country were sold to their own people at a throwaway price. The Prime Minister talks about honesty, but the Central Government only targets people of opposition parties through ED, CBI, police administration, seizes the accounts of Congress party, sends Chief Ministers to jail and defames opposition parties.
Sachin Pilot said that the public decided to bring change in the country in the Lok Sabha elections. The public no longer likes the politics of pressure and exploitation. Ever since Rahul ji became the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, the government has had to take U-turns on several decisions, whether it is making IAS through lateral entry or the matter of Waqf Board. This is the same central government that made black agricultural laws, in protest against which hundreds of farmers lost their lives and later had to withdraw them.
We will put pressure on the government in and outside the Parliament. The Chairman of SEBI will have to resign because very serious allegations have been made and you cannot deny it. Crores of investors have suffered losses, it is the responsibility of SEBI, it has the responsibility to monitor it, there should be a JPC investigation so that the truth can come out in front of the country. He said that why is BJP afraid of JPC’s investigation, why is it running away from the investigation when it has the most number of MPs. The chairman of JPC will be from BJP.
Today, different organizations of the country have called for a nationwide bandh. In the last 10 years, be it tribals, Dalits, backward, farmers, youth, they feel that their interests are not safe under NDA’s central government. This includes Dalits, backward, exploited classes. After getting an overwhelming majority, they tampered with the constitution, tried to tamper with reservation. Tried to do direct recruitment of IAS, tried to reconsider the constitution, in such a situation, tribals, Dalits do not expect their interests to be protected under this government. Only a few BJP people around BJP are taking advantage.
Pilot said that elections are to be held in four states but the party which talks about one-nation, one-election is conducting elections in only two states. They want elections as per their convenience even though the Election Commission conducts the elections. BJP will lose the elections in all the four states and Congress and India Alliance will form the government in all the four states.
He said that the public is bearing the brunt of the internal conflicts of BJP, whether in the government, in the organization, in Lucknow or Delhi. By-elections are to be held on 10 assembly seats in UP and India Alliance will win all the seats. There is an atmosphere of change in the country. The budget that has come is completely a political budget because budget was given to the states ruled by its allies but discrimination was done with UP and Rajasthan. In response to a question, he said that the rape incident that has happened is shameful for any civilized society, it should be condemned, action should be taken, the accused may belong to any class, party, religion, state, strict action should be taken.
In response to a question asked to Sachin Pilot, he said that on the lathi charge in Bihar during Bharat Bandh, he said that the bandh is completely peaceful throughout the country. The strike should be completely peaceful and there should not be any kind of violence so that the voice of Dalits and backward classes can reach the government.
