Lucknow | CMS Golf City emerged as the overall champions at the 5th World Modern Shotokan Karate Cup, securing a total of 32 medals, including 15 gold, 7 silver, and 10 bronze, at the grand event held at Lalji Tandon Multipurpose Hall, Chowk Stadium, Lucknow.
GD Goenka School finished as the runners-up with 23 medals—10 gold, 5 silver, and 8 bronze—while Swarnim Public School claimed third place with 13 medals, including 6 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze.
The championship saw participation from nearly 300 players representing local academies and clubs, including Little Friends School, Dr. Shyam Singh Public School, and Shiv Chand Public School.

Outstanding Performances
Gold medal winners included Tanishka Bhatt, Adya Awasthi, Prachi Jaiswal, Sakshi Nath, Muskan Saxena, Aniruddh Srivastava, Prathamesh Tripathi, Aradhya, Arya, Azban Khan, Arham Khan, Aksha Khan, Raima Khan, Ritika Singh, Rishikesh Sharma, Aryav Amit Malhotra, Rudra Ahuja, Narayan Deep Singh, Pranav Upadhyay, Parth Malhotra, Ananya Singh, Geetika Singh, Ary Pandey, Aryan Prakash, Akshita Jain, and Suvrat Dixit.
Silver medalists included Mohalakshika Singh, Anvesha Srivastava, Anvesha Gupta, Abhijay Singh, Arman Katyayan, Arpita Verma, Neha Yadav, Tejasvi Yadav, Arastu, Manisha, Advika Johri, Pihu Yadav, Shivi Chaudhary, Manveer Singh, Atharv Singh, and Akshita.
Ceremony Highlights
The championship was formally inaugurated by Chief Guest Professor Mahesh J. Thakkar, Director of the Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeosciences, along with distinguished guests Dr. Sanjay (Chairperson, Jilajit Group of Institutions), Dr. Kirti Vikram Singh (Regional Director, IGNOU), and Kyoshi Jaspal Singh, President of the World Modern Shotokan Karate Federation (WMSKF) India.

Shihan Santosh Kumar Jaiswal, Secretary-General of WMSKF Uttar Pradesh, chaired the event, while Shihan Krishna Avtar, Secretary-General of Karate Association, Lucknow, delivered the vote of thanks.
The closing ceremony saw medals being awarded in the presence of Chief Guest Colonel M.K. Singh (Garhwal Rifles) and distinguished guests Dr. Pooja Singh (social worker), Dr. Devarshi Rastogi (KGMU), Professor Monika Bhandari (KGMU), and K.B. Pant (CEO, UP Battle Sports Dance Association).
CMS Golf City’s dominant performance, combined with the stellar show from GD Goenka School and other participants, highlighted the rising standards of karate at both the local and international levels.
