Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh has taken a tough stance on the negligence in resolving complaints received through the CM Helpline and the Sampoorna Samadhan Diwas. This decision comes after persistent reports of delayed or unsatisfactory resolution of public grievances from several districts across the state.
Districts Under Scrutiny
Districts including Deoria, Bhadohi, Gonda, Lalitpur, Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Fatehpur, Azamgarh, and Mirzapur have been flagged for their lackluster performance in handling complaints. In these districts, up to 70% of complainants expressed dissatisfaction with the feedback and resolution provided for their grievances. The Chief Minister, taking serious note of this, has summoned reports from the Chief Secretary regarding the District Magistrates (DMs) and Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) or Superintendents of Police (SPs) of the affected districts.
Possible Disciplinary Action
The dissatisfaction expressed by complainants has led the Chief Minister to consider significant disciplinary measures. Once the Chief Secretary submits the review report on the performance of the DMs and SSPs or SPs of these districts, strict action is expected against negligent officers. The Chief Secretary has already reprimanded the officials from these districts, instructing them to address the inefficiencies in the complaint resolution process immediately.
Immediate Response from the Chief Secretary
In response to the Chief Minister’s concerns, the Chief Secretary has been conducting reviews of the performance in these districts and has indicated that a detailed report will soon be submitted. The reprimands to the DMs and SSPs, SPs emphasize the need for prompt corrective actions and improvements in handling complaints from the public.
Anticipated Outcome
According to experts, once the final report is submitted to the Chief Minister, stringent actions could be taken against officers who have shown negligence. This move reflects CM Yogi Adityanath’s commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability within the state administration, as well as his insistence that complaints from the public be handled swiftly and effectively.
This tough stand serves as a warning to officials across Uttar Pradesh that delays and inefficiencies in public grievance resolution will not be tolerated, particularly when feedback indicates widespread dissatisfaction. The Chief Minister is keen on reinforcing a culture of responsibility within the state’s administrative framework, ensuring that public trust is maintained through efficient governance.
