CM Yogi Showers Flower Petals on Kanwar Yatris in Meerut, Urges Peace and Devotion During the Sacred Journey

Lucknow : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered a warm welcome to thousands of Kanwar Yatris in Meerut, showering flower petals on the devotees as they continued their sacred journey to offer holy water to Lord Shiva. Addressing the gathering, the CM described Lord Shiva as the ‘Lord of Public Welfare’ and ‘Devadhidev’, whose blessings are equally bestowed upon all his devotees, irrespective of age, gender, or background.

“The month of Sawan is a divine period where devotion reaches its zenith. Children, youth, elderly, and women—everyone is carrying Kanwars, setting a remarkable example of social equality and spiritual unity,” the Chief Minister said. “The deep faith and perseverance of every Kanwar Yatri is inspiring, and this devotion deserves encouragement and respect,” he added.

Strong Arrangements for a Smooth and Safe Pilgrimage

CM Yogi acknowledged the strong coordination between the state government, social groups, and religious organizations, which have together ensured safe passage and traffic arrangements for the Kanwar Yatra. Across the state, tents and refreshment stalls have been installed to welcome the pilgrims with open arms and provide them with basic necessities like water, food, and rest stations.

He appealed to the devotees to remain mindful of fellow yatris, pedestrians, and road users, saying, “This journey is about devotion, but also about compassion and understanding. Let your faith reflect in your discipline and care for others.”

Warning Against Disruptive Elements

The Chief Minister also issued a strong warning against anti-social elements attempting to disrupt the harmony of the Kanwar Yatra. He noted that there have been attempts to provoke disturbances, both on social media and in person.

“Such disruptive elements must be exposed and kept out of the pilgrimage route. It is the duty of every Kanwar group to inform authorities if they notice suspicious activity. The administration is fully prepared to take strict action,” CM Yogi declared.

He concluded his address by wishing all Kanwar Yatris a peaceful, safe, and spiritually fulfilling journey, and reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring that the sacred Yatra continues in an atmosphere of devotion, discipline, and harmony.
