Lucknow: CM Yogi Adityanath reviewed the law-and-order preparedness in Lucknow ahead of upcoming festivals and the Sub-Inspector recruitment examination to be conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board.
Chairing a high-level meeting through video conferencing, the Chief Minister directed officials to remain alert and ensure close coordination so that all events are conducted peacefully and smoothly. The review comes in view of several key occasions, including Alvida Namaz on March 13, the police recruitment examination scheduled for March 14–15, the beginning of Chaitra Navratri on March 19, and the expected celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr on March 20–21.
Officials informed that the written examination for Sub-Inspector and equivalent posts will be conducted in four shifts at 1,090 centres across the state. More than 1.575 million candidates have registered for the test. The Chief Minister emphasized strict security, confidentiality, and fairness in the examination process and ordered the deployment of sector and static magistrates along with active intelligence monitoring. PRV-112 vehicles will be stationed outside each examination centre.
Given the large number of candidates travelling across districts, authorities have been instructed to ensure effective traffic management to prevent congestion and maintain smooth movement.
Reviewing preparations for Chaitra Navratri, the Chief Minister noted that major temples such as Vindhyavasini Temple, Devi Patan Temple, Shakumbhari Devi Temple, and Lalita Devi Temple are likely to witness a heavy influx of devotees. Special arrangements for crowd management, sanitation, drinking water, and security have been ordered.

He also reviewed preparations for the large gathering expected in Ayodhya during Ram Navami on March 27 and instructed officials to ensure smooth arrangements for devotees. The Chief Minister also noted that the President of India is scheduled to visit Ayodhya and Mathura on March 19, and directed authorities to complete all protocol arrangements in advance.
Additionally, in view of recent global developments, the Chief Minister reviewed the availability of petrol and diesel across the state. Officials confirmed that supplies remain normal. However, strict monitoring has been ordered to prevent hoarding, black marketing, or the spread of rumours that could create artificial shortages.
Reiterating a zero-tolerance policy against anti-social or anti-national activities, the Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that no new traditions are allowed during religious events and that public convenience is not disrupted. Continuous monitoring of social media platforms has also been ordered to promptly counter misinformation or rumours.
Senior administrative and police officials, including divisional commissioners, district magistrates, police commissioners, and range IGs, participated in the meeting via video conferencing.
