CM Yogi Lays Foundation Stone for 5 GW Integrated Solar Manufacturing Unit

Gautam Buddha Nagar: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath laid the foundation stone for Avada Group’s 5 GW Integrated Solar Manufacturing Unit in Gautam Buddha Nagar. During the event, he also inaugurated the company’s 1.5 GW Solar Module Manufacturing Unit. Addressing the gathering, CM Yogi emphasized that this initiative is a crucial step towards achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of net-zero carbon emissions by 2070. He further stated that Uttar Pradesh has set an ambitious target of generating 22,000 MW of solar power, with the state government actively implementing various programs and initiatives to achieve this goal.

The Need for Clean and Green Energy

Highlighting the significance of clean and green energy, CM Yogi pointed out the adverse effects of global warming, citing issues such as the NCR region’s worsening air quality during winters and the increasing frequency of floods worldwide. He stressed that unplanned resource utilization and unbalanced development have exacerbated these problems. Referring to natural calamities in Europe, Saudi Arabia, France, and Japan, he underscored the severity of global warming, warning that it could lead to food shortages, health crises, and existential threats in the future.

Over 40 Million LED Bulbs Distributed in Eight Years

CM Yogi also spoke about the International Solar Alliance (ISA) initiative, under which India has committed to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2070. He reiterated Uttar Pradesh’s target of producing 22,000 MW of solar energy and highlighted the state’s remarkable progress in energy conservation. Over the past eight years, the government has replaced traditional streetlights with LED lights in urban areas, significantly reducing electricity consumption and municipal expenditures. More than 40 million LED bulbs have been distributed, further contributing to energy savings.

Additionally, he mentioned the state’s ban on single-use plastic and the strengthening of solar policies, which have led to an increase in solar energy production from 267 MW to nearly 5,000 MW. Promoting solar projects in Bundelkhand is another major step toward energy sustainability.

Ayodhya to Become India’s First Solar City

CM Yogi also revealed plans to make Ayodhya India’s first solar city, aligning with the grand inauguration of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi. This initiative will connect the ‘Suryavanshi Capital’ with solar energy, reinforcing the city’s historical and cultural identity.

He further noted that the inauguration of Avada Group’s 1.5 GW Solar Module Manufacturing Unit and the foundation-laying ceremony of the 5 GW Integrated Solar Manufacturing Unit in Greater Noida’s Ecotech-16 mark significant milestones in Uttar Pradesh’s solar energy journey.

The CM also highlighted that the 1.5 GW facility is fully automated, creating substantial employment opportunities for local residents. He emphasized that Uttar Pradesh’s solar policy is designed to attract investors, positioning the state as a self-reliant leader in solar energy production.
