CM Yogi Launches ‘Saral Parivahan Helpline 149’, Flags Off 400 New Buses

Lucknow– Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday unveiled a slew of new initiatives from the Transport Department, marking a major push towards modernized public transport and citizen-friendly services. At a grand event held at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, the CM launched the Saral Parivahan Helpline 149, flagged off 400 new buses, and inaugurated several key projects.

The Chief Minister announced that over 45 transport services will now be available to citizens through 1.5 lakh Jan Seva Kendras across the state. He also inaugurated the Digital Bus Tracking (Margdarshi) App and released a new booklet for International Driving Permits.

In a step towards empowering women, CM Yogi distributed appointment letters to three women conductors – Sangeeta Gautam and Goldy Maurya from Alambagh depot, and Anshika Gautam from Kaiserbagh depot – under the National Rural Livelihood Mission. Certificates were also distributed to new investors of Automatic Driving Test Centres (ADTCs) and Roadside Vehicle Fitness Centres (RVSFs), as well as automatic testing facilities in Lucknow, Agra, Kanpur, and Mirzapur.

Highlighting collaboration with premier institutes, a MoU between IIT Kharagpur and the Transport Department was signed in the presence of the Chief Minister, focusing on research and innovation in mobility solutions.

On infrastructure development, CM Yogi laid the foundation stone for seven modern bus stations to be built under the PPP model at Prayagraj (Zero Road and Civil Lines), Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Lucknow (Charbagh and Vibhuti Khand, Gomtinagar), and Ayodhya Dham. He also inaugurated renovation and upgradation works at multiple existing bus stations and transport hubs.

The Chief Minister flagged off 400 BS-VI compliant buses, including 8 double-decker electric buses, 16 electric buses, 1 retrofitted electric bus, 10 CNG buses, 2 AC buses, 20 Tata buses, 43 Ashiyer buses, and 11 interceptor vehicles for road safety.

In addition, CM Yogi inaugurated the renovation and modernization of the Jupiter Auditorium at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan and laid the foundation for upgradation works at the Mercury and Mars auditoriums. A total of ₹17.6 crore has been earmarked for these projects.

With these initiatives, the state government has reaffirmed its commitment to improving transport infrastructure, expanding green mobility, and ensuring accessible, technology-driven services for every citizen.
