CM Yogi Inaugurates 13th Saryu Jayanti Mahotsav in Ayodhya, Emphasizes River Conservation and Green Initiatives

Ayodhya — Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the 13th Shri Saryu Jayanti Mahotsav at the sacred Ram ki Paidi in Ayodhya on the auspicious occasion of Ganga Dussehra and World Environment Day. The grand celebration, taking place from June 5 to 11, aims to honor the sanctity of River Saryu and promote environmental consciousness.

Welcomed with traditional honor including a mukut (crown), angavastra, and gada, CM Yogi began the event with aarti and worship of River Saryu. Addressing the gathering, he highlighted how Ayodhya has transformed into a beacon of heritage, development, and devotion, drawing visitors from around the world.

“Whoever comes to Ayodhya today leaves overwhelmed by its splendor. What seemed impossible a decade ago is now a reality,” the CM remarked, referring to the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha and the city’s growing global presence.

Underscoring environmental responsibility, CM Yogi launched the ‘One Tree in Mother’s Name’ campaign, encouraging citizens to plant a tree before August 15. A plantation drive involving 35 crore saplings along riverbanks is set to follow.

He also stressed on reviving at least one river per district in collaboration with public representatives. “Rivers are the soul of India,” he noted. “Their purity ensures environmental sustainability and protects us from disasters.”

The CM praised Ayodhya’s development, highlighting the solar city status, international airport, and 4- and 6-lane connectivity. He emphasized that Uttar Pradesh is now a symbol of the new, developed India, with youth employment, women’s safety, and a zero-tolerance approach to crime.

Also present at the event were saints, public representatives, and dignitaries, reaffirming their collective commitment to cultural rejuvenation and ecological responsibility.
