Pushes for Completion of All Pending Work by June 22 Ahead of President Droupadi Murmu’s Inauguration
Gorakhpur / Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted an on-site inspection of the under-construction Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath AYUSH University in Gorakhpur. The visit comes ahead of the university’s proposed inauguration by President Droupadi Murmu on June 30, 2025.
Reviewing the construction progress, the Chief Minister instructed the Public Works Department (PWD) and all implementing agencies to increase manpower and ensure the work is completed on a war footing. He also stressed the importance of deploying a dedicated team for continuous monitoring of the site.

96% of Work Completed; Remaining Tasks to Finish by June 22
Officials informed the Chief Minister that around 96% of the construction work has been completed. CM Yogi visited the administrative building, inspecting the Outpatient Department (OPD) and medicine storage units, along with other key facilities.
He directed all concerned departments — including the AYUSH Department, District Administration, Police, and PWD — to ensure that every remaining task is completed by June 22, 2025, without fail.

Cleanliness, Signage and Greenery to Be Prioritized
In light of the President’s expected arrival, the Chief Minister also took stock of preparations for a helipad and emphasized cleanliness across the campus, directing that no traces of dirt or debris be visible. “All buildings should carry clearly marked names,” he added.

CM Yogi also issued instructions for extensive plantation drives both within the university campus and along adjoining roads, contributing to a green and serene environment.
Focus on Academic Readiness and Skilled Faculty
Highlighting the need to ensure academic excellence, the Chief Minister instructed the AYUSH Principal Secretary and the Vice-Chancellor of the university to urgently complete all formalities required for onboarding skilled faculty members.
A Milestone in Holistic Medical Education
Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath AYUSH University is the first of its kind in Uttar Pradesh, aimed at promoting traditional systems of medicine including Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy. The university is set to play a pivotal role in AYUSH education, research, and healthcare in the state.
Senior government officials, including local legislators and top district and departmental authorities, were present during the Chief Minister’s inspection.
This inspection reflects the government’s unwavering commitment to speedy infrastructure development, especially in sectors like education and healthcare, as well as its preparations to ensure a grand and timely launch of landmark institutions.
