Lucknow— In a significant boost to cardiac healthcare in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the newly developed Cardiology Wing at King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow. The cutting-edge facility, which includes advanced catheterisation laboratories and a 96-bed capacity, marks a new chapter in specialized cardiovascular care in the region.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak and Minister of State Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh. Their unwavering commitment to public health and medical infrastructure was lauded by the university and attending faculty.
Parth Sarthi Sen Sharma, Principal Secretary of Medical Education, was also present and acknowledged for his pivotal role in steering strategic healthcare initiatives across the state.

Prof. Rishi Sethi, MD, DM, FACC, FESC, FRCP (Edin., London), and Head of the Department of Cardiology at KGMU, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister for his “visionary leadership and steadfast support” in bringing this ambitious project to life. Prof. Sethi, who also serves as Executive Director of SIB SHInE, described the facility as “a transformative step in the university’s journey to provide world-class, accessible cardiac care.”

Prof. Soniya Nityanand, Vice Chancellor of KGMU, commended the initiative as a reflection of the institution’s ongoing commitment to academic and medical excellence.
