Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) to ensure bus services from all districts to Prayagraj for devotees wishing to take a holy dip at the Sangam during the Mahakumbh 2025. Addressing a crucial meeting with UPSRTC officials on Saturday, the Chief Minister reviewed the corporation’s preparations for the event.
The Chief Minister emphasized that bus services should be operational from all districts throughout the entire Mahakumbh period, not just on key bathing festival days. He also directed that the bus schedules be widely publicized to ensure ease of travel for pilgrims.
Focus on Safety and Affordability
CM Adityanath instructed authorities to strictly enforce regulations against overloading and ensure that drivers and conductors abstain from substance use during duty. He reiterated that neither public nor private bus operators should charge fares exceeding the fixed rates, and no vehicle should exceed its approved passenger capacity.
7,000 Additional Buses and Shuttles for Mahakumbh
To accommodate the massive influx of devotees, UPSRTC has announced plans to deploy an additional 7,000 buses across the state. For seamless transportation within the fairgrounds, 550 shuttle buses will also be in service.

The meeting was attended by the State Transport Minister, Principal Secretary (Transport), Principal Secretary (to the Chief Minister), and the Managing Director of UPSRTC.
The Mahakumbh 2025 is expected to draw millions of devotees from across the country and beyond. The UP government’s proactive measures aim to facilitate smooth and safe transportation for all pilgrims, ensuring an organized and memorable experience for the faithful.
