Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Addresses ‘Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan-2025’ in Auraiya

Lucknow – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while addressing the ‘Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan-2025’ at Janata Mahavidyalaya, Ajitmal in Auraiya district, reaffirmed his government’s commitment to transforming the state’s agricultural sector. He declared that the “double-engine government” is working relentlessly to secure a prosperous future for farmers in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a developed India.

Empowering Farmers: From Lab to Land

Highlighting the Lab to Land initiative, the CM said that for the first time, agricultural scientists from ICAR, universities, and Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) have been mobilized to reach farmers’ fields. “This initiative is a part of our mission to prioritize the farmers’ welfare from seed to market,” said the CM.

He interacted with farmers during the Maize Farmers’ Conference, distributed mini seed kits, symbolic cheques, certificates, and also honored progressive farmers. Prior to the event, he inaugurated a crop exhibition, performed an annaprashan ceremony, and planted a sapling under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign.

Maize: The New Cash Crop

Yogi Adityanath emphasized the rising profitability of maize cultivation. “Farmers are now growing three crops annually. Maize is not just a nutritious food grain but also a source for biofuel and bioplastics. Soon, MSP-based maize procurement centres will be set up in the state,” he announced.

“Maize is emerging as a cash crop in 20-25 districts. A farmer can earn up to ₹2.5 lakh per hectare, making it a viable alternative alongside traditional crops like paddy and potato,” the CM added.

Strengthening Agricultural Infrastructure

Yogi Adityanath highlighted several farmer-centric reforms, including:

  • Free electricity for 15 lakh private tubewells, with the state bearing ₹2,700 crore in costs.

  • Over 1 lakh farmers provided with solar panels under the PM Kusum Yojana.

  • Expansion of irrigation through Saryu Canal, Arjun Sahayak, and Bansagar projects, benefiting 23 lakh hectares.

He also lauded the impact of the PM-KISAN scheme, which has reached 2.86 crore farmers in UP, transferring ₹85,000 crore via DBT.

Auraiya Rising: Development Projects Worth Thousands of Crores

Underscoring Auraiya’s progress, the CM detailed several major projects:

  • ₹250 crore medical college named after Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar.

  • ₹272 crore sanctioned for a Reserve Police Line.

  • A ₹151 crore bridge over the Yamuna River, connecting Auraiya and Jalaun.

  • ₹24 crore for a Model Composite School, offering modern education from pre-primary to Class 12.

  • ₹250 crore sanctioned for a new District Court complex.

  • Establishment of a Krishi Vigyan Kendra and ₹3 crore for agricultural extension services.

Youth, Jobs, and Security

The CM asserted that the youth of the state are being integrated into the development process:

  • Over 8 lakh government jobs provided since 2017.

  • 60,000 recruits recently selected for UP Police, with appointment letters to be distributed on June 15 in the presence of the Union Home Minister.

  • Recruitment of 1.6 lakh teachers and thousands more in PWD, Irrigation, and Agriculture departments.

“The double-engine government has ensured safety for daughters and traders, improved law and order, and fostered a pro-business environment that has resulted in investment and employment for over 65 lakh youths,” the CM stated.

He also highlighted the ‘One District One Product (ODOP)’ scheme, which has provided livelihood to nearly 2 crore youth.

A Call for Collective Responsibility

CM Adityanath spoke about Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, marking 11 years of the NDA government on June 9. “In this period, India has emerged as a global power, the fourth-largest economy, and has witnessed an unprecedented rise in per capita income and world-class infrastructure,” he said.

Referring to Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar, he paid tribute to her contributions, including the reconstruction of temples like Kashi Vishwanath, Jagannath Puri, and Mahakal in Ujjain, calling her a beacon of India’s cultural legacy.

He concluded by calling upon citizens to contribute to the vision of “Viksit Bharat”, pledging that the double-engine government will provide security, good governance, and welfare for all.

A short film on Maize Development was screened, and Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, Minister of State Baldev Singh Aulakh, and Minister Pratibha Shukla were present at the event.
