Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday inaugurated the KDSG Super Speciality Hospital in Greater Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar district, highlighting the importance of accessible, affordable and trustworthy healthcare for every citizen.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that for a common person, healthcare means services that are accurate, affordable and reliable. He emphasized that patients visit doctors with trust, and therefore medical advice should always be correct and easily accessible. “A doctor’s compassionate behaviour can cure more than half of a patient’s illness, while the rest is addressed by medicine and prayers,” he remarked.
The newly inaugurated 300-bed super speciality hospital is expected to generate employment for around 1,000 people, directly and indirectly. These include nursing staff, paramedical personnel, technicians, ward attendants and other support staff. The Chief Minister noted that the project will contribute not only to healthcare services but also to employment generation and self-reliance in the region.
Former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev, founder and director of the hospital, was also present at the event. The Chief Minister praised him for expanding his service initiatives through the establishment of a modern healthcare facility in Dadri, which will benefit residents of Gautam Buddha Nagar as well as the entire National Capital Region.
Highlighting the role of public–private collaboration, the Chief Minister said that while the government continues to strengthen healthcare infrastructure, private sector participation helps ensure wider access to quality medical services. The hospital will be operated by the renowned DY Patil Group, known for its contributions in the fields of education and healthcare in Maharashtra.
The Chief Minister also spoke about the achievements of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana launched under the leadership of Narendra Modi. He said more than 600 million people across India have received universal health cards, while over 56 million Golden Cards have been issued in Uttar Pradesh alone, enabling eligible beneficiaries to avail cashless treatment up to ₹5 lakh at empanelled hospitals.

He further noted that before 2017, Uttar Pradesh had only 17 government medical colleges, but now 81 medical colleges are operational across the state as part of the “One District–One Medical College” initiative.
The Chief Minister added that in the past year alone, ₹1,300 crore from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund had been provided to empanelled hospitals for patient treatment. He also highlighted other initiatives such as “One District–One Product” and the emerging “One District–One Cuisine” concept.
Speaking on the rapid development of Gautam Buddha Nagar, he mentioned that the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar will soon become India’s largest airport. He also noted that the district accounts for 55% of India’s mobile manufacturing and 60% of electronic component production, with projects like a film city and a medical device park underway.
Several dignitaries attended the event, including Union Minister and local MP Mahesh Sharma, state minister Kunwar Brijesh Singh, MLAs Tejpal Nagar and Dhirendra Singh, along with other public representatives and officials.
