Lucknow | The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Uttar Pradesh held a review meeting with all District Election Officers to assess the progress of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and issued a series of essential directives to ensure transparency and accuracy in the process.
Emphasizing the importance of vigilance, the CEO warned that any negligence or violation of Election Commission guidelines at any level will invite strict action. He reiterated that the process of adding or deleting names from the voters’ list must remain completely transparent and error-free.
Appealing for active cooperation from all political parties and voters, the Chief Electoral Officer stated, “There should be no complaints of irregularities during the SIR process. The inclusion and deletion of names in the voters’ list must be entirely transparent. No ineligible person should find a place in the electoral roll, and all eligible citizens must be duly enrolled.”

During the review, it was noted that district election officers have already conducted meetings with representatives of various political parties to brief them on the SIR procedure and the Election Commission’s instructions. Furthermore, all political parties have been requested to appoint Booth Level Agents (BLAs) who will assist Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in the revision process.
The Chief Electoral Officer directed all officials to maintain the highest standards of fairness, transparency, and efficiency so that the upcoming electoral process remains credible and inclusive.
