Unnao: India’s first AI augmented multidisciplinary University, Chandigarh University, Uttar Pradesh, has achieved a new milestone in the field of innovation and technology by organizing the nation’s first two-day Agentic AI Founders’ Hackathon – “Hack with Uttar Pradesh”. The special event, scheduled from November 1 to 2, marks a major step in India’s growing leadership in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
In February 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s co-chairing of the Paris AI Action Summit underscored India’s strong commitment and leadership in the global AI landscape. Continuing this momentum, the Government of India is set to host the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi next February. The Agentic AI Founders’ Hackathon at Chandigarh University, Uttar Pradesh, has been organized as a pre run up event to this landmark event, reflecting India’s readiness to drive innovation-led AI transformation.
The mega event has brought together over 20,000 young innovators from across the country, who are showcasing their creativity, problem-solving skills, and technological expertise. Blackbox AI has partnered as the official AI collaborator, while global technology leaders Google, Microsoft, Meta, IBM, Gemini, and Perplexity are serving as key collaborators.
The hackathon aims to provide a platform for young minds to develop innovative solutions to real-world challenges through creativity and technological competence. Over 10,000 students from Uttar Pradesh and an equal number from other Indian states are participating. The event has drawn entries from more than 300 institutions, including IITs, NITs, and IIITs, representing 4,300 participating teams. A total prize pool of ₹10 lakh has been announced to encourage participants to refine their ideas and transform them into successful startups.

Speaking on the occasion, Jai Inder Singh Sandhu, Managing Director, Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh, said,“the Government of India will be hosting the India AI Impact Conference 2026 in New Delhi, and this Agentic AI Founders’ Hackathon at Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh is being organized as a pre run up event to it. The participation of over 20,000 young innovators from across India shows that our youth are no longer job seekers but are emerging as job creators through innovation and startups.”
He further added,“the day is not far when India will emerge as a global leader in Artificial Intelligence. In Uttar Pradesh, the vision of a Viksit Bharat 2047 will be realized through the AI City initiative, which is not merely a project but the blueprint for a self-reliant, technology-driven India. The participation of over 10,000 students from Uttar Pradesh in this hackathon is a reflection of that vision, and the Agentic AI Founders’ Hackathon hosted by Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh marks the first major step toward turning that dream into reality.”
