Center of Excellence for Honey to Enhance Prosperity of Local Farmers

 Saharanpur: Uttar Pradesh’s Minister of State for Horticulture, Agricultural Marketing, Agricultural Foreign Trade, and Agricultural Export (Independent Charge),  Dinesh Pratap Singh, inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for several key projects aimed at promoting the development of the horticulture sector at the Horticultural Experiment and Training Center in Saharanpur.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Singh emphasized the government’s continuous efforts to make farmers self-reliant. He highlighted that numerous high-tech nurseries and Centers of Excellence have been established across the state, enabling farmers and horticulturists to benefit from advanced agricultural technologies. These initiatives aim to provide farmers with high-quality plant materials, ultimately leading to increased crop yields and higher income.

Singh stated, “The government’s consistent endeavor is to empower farmers to become self-sufficient by adopting modern technologies, thereby enhancing their income.”

During the event, the minister inaugurated several projects, including the Center of Excellence for Fruits and Vegetables at Company Bagh, Saharanpur; government farms at Loi, Muzaffarnagar; and high-tech nurseries at Jageta Gurjar in Saharanpur, Jalalpur (Shamli), Mavi Mamour (Shamli), and Chittaura (Muzaffarnagar). Additionally, he laid the foundation stone for the Center of Excellence for Honey at Company Bagh, Saharanpur, which is expected to significantly contribute to the prosperity of local beekeepers and farmers.

Minister Singh also inspected various stalls set up by the department during the program, engaging with officials and entrepreneurs to learn about the unique features of their products. As part of the Integrated Horticulture Development Mission, a tractor was handed over to a farmer during the event, symbolizing the government’s support for agricultural mechanization.

These initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to transforming Uttar Pradesh’s agricultural landscape through technological advancements and sustainable farming practices.
