Lucknow: On December 25, the Centre of Bio-Medical Research (CBMR) celebrated the birth centenary of the revered Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee with great enthusiasm and joy. The event saw active participation from all employees and research scholars.
The program commenced with floral tributes to the late leader, followed by an address by Prof. Alok Dhawan. He highlighted Atal Ji’s visionary leadership and his dream of a developed India achieved through science and technology. Prof. Dhawan also reminded the audience of Atal Ji’s slogan, “Jai Vigyan,” which underscored his respect for Indian scientists and his decision to establish “National Technology Day” to boost the morale of the scientific community.
The event’s chief guest, Ashutosh Singh, Organization Secretary of Vijnana Bharati, encouraged everyone to draw inspiration from Atal Ji’s life. He emphasized embodying his simple and sensitive nature as a guiding principle.
The program also featured a poetry recitation by Pankaj Prasun, a national poet and Senior Technical Officer at CSIR – Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow. Through his original compositions, Prasun shed light on various aspects of science and paid tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee with a dedicated poem.
Prof. Neeraj Sinha, Dean of CBMR, concluded the event by thanking all the dignitaries, attendees, and office members for their participation, making the program a success.
The centenary celebrations were a fitting tribute to the life and legacy of a leader who envisioned a progressive India driven by innovation and scientific excellence.
