Lucknow: Ahead of the upcoming festivals of Holi and Eid, a grand parade and Peace Committee meeting were organized at the Kaisarbagh police station in the state capital to review security arrangements and reinforce communal harmony.
The meeting, chaired by the DCP (West), brought together local residents, community leaders, and prominent citizens to promote brotherhood and ensure peaceful celebrations. Senior police officials interacted with members of both communities and appealed for cooperation in maintaining law and order.
Addressing the gathering, the DCP (West) urged citizens to celebrate Holi and Eid while upholding Lucknow’s historic Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb — a symbol of communal harmony and shared cultural heritage. “Festivals are occasions of joy and unity. Any attempt to disrupt peace will not be tolerated,” the officer said.
The administration issued a clear warning that strict action would be taken against anyone attempting to disturb communal harmony or spread chaos. Police officials also stated that the cyber cell is closely monitoring social media platforms to prevent the circulation of misleading or inflammatory content.
Citizens were requested to immediately inform the police about any suspicious person or activity in their locality. “Public cooperation is crucial for maintaining peace. If you notice anything unusual, inform the police without delay,” the DCP emphasized.
To instill confidence among residents, a police parade was also conducted within the police station premises. The show of strength aimed to reassure the public that adequate security measures are in place for the festive period.
The event was attended by the Additional DCP (West), ACPs, station house officers, and police personnel from across the western zone. Senior officers shared their contact numbers with attendees and assured them that the police force remains available round the clock to safeguard citizens.
“Our objective is that every citizen feels secure. If anyone attempts to disturb peace or communal harmony, the West Zone police will take the strictest possible action,” the DCP stated.
With coordinated efforts between law enforcement and community representatives, authorities aim to ensure that Holi and Eid are celebrated peacefully, reflecting the true spirit of unity that defines Lucknow.
