Lucknow:A two-day Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery Specialty Clinic was organised at Vivekananda Polyclinic and Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow on March 6 and 7, 2026, aimed at providing expert consultation and medical support to patients suffering from heart and vascular diseases.
On the first day of the clinic, held on March 6 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, patients were examined at the Deluxe OPD located on the ground floor of the institute. The clinic was conducted under the guidance of renowned cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon Prof. (Dr.) Bhavatosh Biswas, who has more than 40 years of experience in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery. With the support of his skilled paramedical team, he provided medical consultations and examinations to patients suffering from heart and chest-related ailments. Around 50 patients visited the clinic and availed themselves of medical consultation and treatment.
Dr. Biswas advised that patients experiencing symptoms such as persistent cough, cough with sputum, unexplained weight loss, loss of appetite, chest pain, breathing difficulty, frequent chest infections, or coughing up blood should seek medical consultation. He also highlighted that individuals suffering from lung or esophageal cancer, or those with chronic kidney disease requiring dialysis, should consult specialists for proper evaluation.
He further noted that people experiencing circulatory and blood vessel-related disorders—including chronic leg pain, cramps in the legs, numbness in hands and feet, swelling in the legs, gangrene, and varicose veins—should take advantage of such specialist consultations.
Speaking on the occasion, the institute’s secretary Swami Muktinathanand Ji Maharaj said that Swami Vivekananda had proclaimed the national ideals of sacrifice and service to address societal challenges. He stated that the institute is working to put these ideals into practice by providing quality medical services at concessional rates to those in need.
He added that the initiative aims to ensure that patients from Lucknow and surrounding areas receive affordable and high-quality medical consultation and surgical care, especially those who cannot afford expensive treatment elsewhere.
