Campus Buzzes with Innovation and Creativity at Sciencia & Sollertia Fests

Lucknow: The campus of Seth M.R. Jaipuria School in Gomtinagar transformed into a dynamic hub of intellectual and artistic expression on August 20, 2025, with the successful staging of Sciencia 2025 and Sollertia 2025. The dual festivals saw the enthusiastic participation of over 700 students from more than 20 of Lucknow’s leading schools, converging in a vibrant celebration of youthful brilliance.

The day commenced with a ceremonial opening attended by esteemed guests, including the school’s Principal, Mrs. Promini Chopra, and chief guest  Alok Dhwan, Director of the Centre of Biomedical Research, Lucknow. In her address, Mrs. Chopra emphasized the school’s commitment to holistic development, stating, “The reason Seth M.R. Jaipuria School organizes festivals like these, bringing together science, art, dance, music, drama, literature, mathematics, and technical skills, is to ensure that our students build leadership skills and experience school life in its fullest sense.”

The energy then split into two parallel realms of competition. Sciencia 2025, themed “Science vs Fiction,” challenged students to explore the intersection of curiosity and critical thinking. Participants in the “Encencao (Roleplay)” event captivated the audience by embodying scientific legends such as Marie Curie and Charles Darwin, while “Explicacao Possível (What If…?)” tested their imagination with speculative hypotheses on topics like time travel. The “Debata Sessão” featured high-stakes debates where logic clashed with speculation.

Innovation was a core focus of the festival. In the “Investors’ Pitch” event, students presented entrepreneurial ideas like “ZeroDrop,” a waterless car wash company, and “SkillNora,” a learning platform that uses short-form content to simplify complex subjects. The Model Making competition showcased projects with a strong emphasis on sustainability and societal impact, including a Braille printer for the visually challenged, a solar-powered green farming system, and a vertical hydroponics setup. The chief guest, Mr. Alok Dhwan, was particularly impressed by the forward-thinking nature of these projects. “What impressed me most was the futuristic approach of the models presented by students,” he said, adding that their ideas “reflected a deep awareness of sustainability and climate change,” and were “truly remarkable” for aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals.

On the artistic front, Sollertia captivated audiences with its vibrant showcase of creativity. The “Canvas to Couture” event stood out, with teams designing stunning wearable outfits from waste materials. A group of students earned special praise for their depiction of Lord Krishna using sustainable materials, explaining that their design balanced masculinity and femininity, embodying Krishna’s strength and spiritual softness. The event concluded with students from Modern Academy clinching the top spot in Sollertia.

Dr. Sunil K. Vishwakarma, President of the Lalit Kala Academy, Lucknow, also graced the occasion as a chief guest. He commended the school’s inclusive spirit, noting, “Every school follows a set curriculum where teachers guide their own students, but what sets Jaipuria apart is the way it provides a platform to showcase the creativity not only of its own learners but also of students from other schools.” The day concluded with the recognition of exceptional talent, marking a successful convergence of logical and creative brilliance.
