New Delhi: External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar said that the key priorities of the BRICS Summit to be held under India’s chairmanship this year will be resilience, innovation, cooperation, and sustainability. Speaking at the launch of the BRICS 2026 logo, theme, and official website, he said these priorities provide a coherent framework for the grouping’s three core pillars—political and security, economic and financial, and cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
The BRICS 2026 logo reflects India’s identity as well as the collective spirit of the grouping. Inspired by the lotus, India’s national flower, the logo features inner petals forming two hands in a namaste gesture, symbolizing greeting and respect. The five outer petals are coloured to represent the founding BRICS nations—Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa—highlighting unity amid diversity.

Following the launch, Dr. Jaishankar wrote on social media platform X that preparations for BRICS India 2026 have begun with the unveiling of the website, theme, and logo, along with Ministers of State Kirti Vardhan Singh and Pabitra Margherita. He said India’s BRICS presidency will adopt a “humanity-first” and “people-centric” approach, focusing on resilience, innovation, cooperation, and sustainability.
Referring to the logo and website during the event, the External Affairs Minister said the theme emphasizes strengthening capacities, fostering innovation, and ensuring sustainable development for the collective good. He noted that while the logo symbolizes unity and diversity among BRICS members, the BRICS India website will serve as a shared digital platform during India’s presidency, providing information on meetings, initiatives, and outcomes, and enabling timely dissemination of information and enhanced engagement.

Dr. Jaishankar said India’s BRICS chairmanship aims to “harness the collective strength of BRICS countries for global welfare.” He added that India will assume the presidency at a crucial juncture, as BRICS marks 20 years since its establishment in 2026.
He further noted that over the years, BRICS has steadily evolved into a significant platform for cooperation among emerging markets and developing economies. The grouping has expanded both its agenda and membership, with a growing focus on people-centric development, dialogue, and practical cooperation, he said.
