Lucknow | Khun Khun Ji Girls Post Graduate College hosted a special book release ceremony dedicated to renowned rural sociologist Prof. B.R. Chauhan. The edited volume titled “Gram-Nagar Sambandh: Prabhavi Pariprekshya evam Udiyman Pravrittiyan” (Village–City Relations: Effective Perspectives and Emerging Trends) was officially launched during the programme.
The event began with the inaugural address by the college principal Prof. Anshu Kedia. The book, edited by Prof. Rajesh Mishra and Dr. Supriya, was formally released in the presence of distinguished guests.
Prof. Abha Chauhan attended as the Chief Guest, while Prof. D.R. Sahu and Prof. Sukant Chaudhary were present as Special Guests. The book discussion session was chaired by Prof. J.K. Pundeer.
During the ceremony, the authors and scholars highlighted the evolving dynamics between rural and urban societies. They noted that cities are not only transforming villages but are also becoming increasingly interdependent with them. This mutual influence is impacting both lifestyles and social structures.

Speakers emphasized that society is gradually transitioning from a purely rural framework to a “rural-urban society,” where boundaries between village and city are becoming more fluid. The book explores these changing patterns and emerging research trends from multiple perspectives.
The event witnessed the participation of notable academics including Prof. Satya Mishra, Dr. Amarpal, Dr. Neetu Batra, Dr. Supriya Chaturvedi, Dr. Vinay Chauhan, along with several scholars and students.
The programme celebrated both academic contribution and the legacy of Prof. B.R. Chauhan in the field of rural sociology.
