Bomb Threat at Government Office in Wazirganj Triggers Security Alert in Lucknow

Lucknow: A major security alert was triggered on Monday in Lucknow’s Wazirganj area after police received a bomb threat at the State Family Welfare Office (Rajkiya Parivar Kalyan Bhavan). The alarming message was delivered via an email, claiming the office would be blown up.

The threatening mail, which included the phrase “Pakistan Zindabad”, was sent to the official email account of the Family Welfare Department. It also carried a threat issued in the name of “Tamil Tiger”, further intensifying security concerns.

Upon receiving the alert, Chowk ACP Raj Kumar promptly arrived at the scene with his police team. The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) also reached the site, conducting a thorough search of the building—every room, corner, and parked vehicle outside was carefully checked.

Soon after, ADCP West also arrived at the spot and took stock of the entire situation. Police cordoned off the area and ensured the safety of the staff and public in the vicinity.

As of now, no suspicious object has been found, and the threat is being treated seriously pending further investigation. Forensic and cybercrime teams are likely to be brought in to trace the origin of the email.

Security has been heightened in and around government buildings in the city following the incident. The police presence remains heavy at the location, and an FIR is expected to be registered as the investigation continues.
