Lucknow : On the occasion of International Yoga Day 2025, the Department of Culture, Government of Uttar Pradesh, organized a special yoga session titled ‘Surya Namaskar Yog Mudra and Yoga Practice’ at Bhatkhande Sanskriti University, Lucknow on the morning of June 21, 2025.
Held in the serene premises of the university, the session featured guided yoga practices, with a strong focus on various Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) postures and yogic exercises, led by expert instructors. The aim was to raise awareness about the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga among the public.
The university administration made participation mandatory for all faculty and staff members, emphasizing the importance of collective engagement to reinforce a deeper commitment to wellness through yoga.

More than a symbolic observance, the initiative by Bhatkhande Sanskriti University is seen as an effort to instill yoga as a daily lifestyle practice among students, employees, and the wider community. The program also included a scientific explanation of Surya Namaskar, its effects on the human body, and insights into yogic solutions for common ailments.
Through this initiative, the Department of Culture, Uttar Pradesh, conveyed a strong message: Yoga is not just physical exercise, but a timeless heritage of Indian culture, capable of guiding individuals toward holistic health and inner balance when integrated into daily life.
