Lucknow: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the AI Research Center, School of Engineering, BBD University, organized a special panel discussion titled ‘Women in AI.’ The session was moderated by Dr. Shokouh Khanda, an AI specialist at Manchester Metropolitan University, UK. The event was inspired by the vision of BBD Educational Group Chairperson, Alka Das Gupta, and supported by BBD Group President, Viraj Sagar Das, Vice President, Devanshi Das, and Sonakshi Das, under the guidance of BBDU Pro Vice-Chancellor, Dr. S.C. Sharma.
The panel discussion featured distinguished experts from the AI field. Dr. Mina Kiani, a Data Automation and AI Specialist at IBM Australia, discussed the contributions of women in AI development. Dr. Massieh Badami, Global Head of Marketing and Data Analytics at Hays Recruitment PLC, Australia, emphasized the importance of data security amid the expanding use of AI. Dr. Azadeh Mohammadi, a Data Scientist at the University of Salford, UK, shed light on the increasing use of Generative AI. Meanwhile, Dr. Mouna Sabrine Mayouf, Scientific Leader in AI at Capgemini France, highlighted the significance of ensuring AI’s safe application to avoid social and personal security concerns.
Concluding the session, Dr. Praveen Shukla expressed gratitude to all the panelists for their insightful contributions. The discussion served as a valuable platform to address the role of women in AI and the challenges and opportunities in the field.
