Batteries Stolen from Parked Bikes at Marine Drive, Gomti Nagar

Lucknow | Incidents of battery theft are on the rise in Lucknow, with even parked two-wheelers no longer safe. In a fresh case reported on Monday, thieves targeted motorcycles parked by visitors at Marine Drive in the Gomti Nagar police station area, stealing batteries from two bikes within just 20 minutes.

The theft came to light when the victims attempted to start their motorcycles but found that the vehicles would not start. Upon inspection, they discovered that the batteries had been removed. Following the incident, one of the victims recorded a video and shared it on social media, which has since gone viral. In the video, the victim questioned the existing security arrangements in the area.

Marine Drive attracts a large number of visitors daily, many of whom park their motorcycles along the roadside. Thieves are reportedly taking advantage of this situation, carrying out battery thefts fearlessly and escaping within minutes. Locals claim that the perpetrators operate in a highly organized manner, removing batteries swiftly without drawing attention.

The victims have expressed concern that such incidents in a supposedly secure and popular area raise serious questions about police vigilance. Through social media, they have appealed to the police administration to take swift action and strengthen security to prevent further thefts.
