Bareilly: In a major crackdown on illicit liquor trade, the district excise team in Bareilly conducted raids across sensitive areas in Aonla and Faridpur, including Rautapur, Hindolia, and Gopalpur, leading to significant seizures.
According to District Excise Officer Hukum Singh, the raids resulted in the recovery of approximately 36 litres of illegal liquor and 100 kilograms of lahan (raw material used for liquor brewing), which was destroyed on the spot.
The excise team has registered three criminal cases in connection with the illegal liquor found during the operation. Alongside the raids, the department also carried out inspections at various liquor shops to ensure compliance with licensing and sales regulations.

The action is part of the ongoing drive to curb the production and distribution of illicit liquor in the region.
