Bareilly: The district administration in Bareilly held a review meeting to strengthen measures against illegal mining and transportation of minerals. The meeting was chaired by District Magistrate Avinash Singh at the Collectorate auditorium and attended by members of the district-level task force and officials responsible for monitoring check posts.
During the meeting, the District Magistrate directed officials to ensure that all payments and deposits related to the mining department are mandatorily uploaded on the official portal to maintain transparency. He also instructed that computer operators involved in the process should be given proper training so that the system functions efficiently without errors.
Avinash Singh further ordered that additional police personnel be deployed at toll plazas where cases of overloading are frequently reported. These toll plazas should also be inspected at least three times a week to keep a close watch on illegal transportation of mining materials.
The District Magistrate instructed the transport department to ensure that CCTV cameras are installed at every toll plaza so that vehicles such as tractor-trolleys and trucks carrying illegally mined materials can be identified and action can be taken promptly.

He also noted that the administration has been receiving several complaints regarding illegal soil mining permissions. In this regard, the Sub-Divisional Magistrates of Sadar and Baheri have been directed to deploy revenue officials (Lekhpal) for regular monitoring in sensitive areas and ensure immediate action on complaints.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue) Santosh Kumar Singh, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sadar Pramod Kumar, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Baheri Ishita Kishore and other concerned officials.
