Babu Banarasi Das University Signs MoU with Virohan Pvt. Ltd. to Launch School of Allied Health Sciences

Lucknow — In a significant step toward enhancing healthcare education and industry-academia collaboration, Babu Banarasi Das University (BBDU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Virohan Private Limited to establish a new School of Allied Health Sciences. The initiative was formalized under the leadership of  Sonakshi Das, Vice President of BBD Educational Group.

This collaboration has been inspired by  Alka Das Gupta, Chairperson of BBD Educational Group, and  Viraj Sagar Das, President of BBD Group, who have consistently encouraged innovative academic ventures aligned with industry needs.

The MoU signing ceremony was graced by key university officials including the Pro Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Dean of Student Welfare, Chief Proctor, Director of IQAC, Dean of Academics, Deputy Registrar, and other Deans. Representing Virohan Pvt. Ltd. were  Rashmi Jha, Senior Director, and  Kumar Virochit, Regional Head.

The School of Allied Health Sciences is set to commence from the academic session 2025-26 and will offer four-year undergraduate programs in Medical Laboratory Technology, Anesthesia and Operation Theatre Technology, Optometry, and Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology. The collaboration also envisions the launch of additional programs in allied health sciences in the near future.

Speaking on the occasion,  Sonakshi Das emphasized that the partnership will “not only provide students with enhanced skill development and practical education, but also bridge the gap between academics and industry, making our graduates more employable in the healthcare sector.”

With this strategic alliance, BBDU aims to deliver world-class healthcare education while creating a pipeline of industry-ready professionals, thus contributing to the nation’s evolving medical landscape.
