Ayurveda Experts Share Healthy Lifestyle Tips on 10th National Ayurveda Day

Lucknow: As part of the ongoing programs marking the 10th National Ayurveda Day, Ayurveda experts at the Government Ayurvedic College and Hospital, Tudiaganj, shared valuable insights on healthy living. The session, held under the theme “Ayurveda for Everyone, Ayurveda for Earth”, focused on daily routines, diet, and seasonal practices prescribed in Ayurvedic texts.

Speaking at the Maharshi Charak Auditorium, Prof. Pradeep Kumar Sachan explained the core principles of Ayurveda. He highlighted that waking up during Brahmamuhurta and having dinner within an hour of sunset can help prevent several ailments. Morning meals, he said, should be wholesome and nutritious, while evening meals should be light.

Prof. Mahesh Narayan Gupta stressed that except in the summer season, healthy individuals should avoid daytime sleep, as it disturbs body balance. He also advised against consuming curd, cucumber, sattu, and chooda during dinner.

Dr. Sanjeev Saxena pointed out that Ayurveda prescribes the regular intake of four essential substances that act as natural rejuvenators for the body. Dr. Dharmendra emphasized the importance of eating only when hungry, as proper digestion and absorption are key to good health.

As part of the series, the college is conducting outreach programs to spread awareness about Ayurveda and healthy lifestyles. On September 20, students of Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Rajajipuram, were introduced to Ayurvedic dietary practices and medicinal plants like neem, tulsi, giloy, and amla. Children were also counseled on immunity-boosting Swarn Prashan and the harmful effects of excessive screen time.

The series, led by Principal Prof. Dinesh Kumar Maurya, aims to connect Ayurveda’s wisdom with modern lifestyles and encourage its practice among all sections of society.
