Ayodhya Emerges as a Global Spiritual Tourism Hub, Foreign Visitors Praise Modi–Yogi Leadership

Ayodhya/Lucknow: With the construction of the Ram Temple, Ayodhya has rapidly transformed into a world-class spiritual tourism destination. Tourists arriving from Russia, Pune and several other countries and states have praised the city’s divine ambience, improved cleanliness, modern facilities and the development initiatives driven by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The surge in pilgrimage tourism has brought unprecedented growth to the hotel, restaurant and guesthouse sectors, giving a major boost to local employment and the city’s economy. The influx of international tourists, rising investments and the fast-expanding hospitality industry are turning Ayodhya into a global symbol of India’s cultural strength and spiritual heritage.

Russian tourist Eva, overwhelmed by the city’s transformation, said Ayodhya has evolved into a “magnificent and serene spiritual city.” She noted the world-class accommodation, the immaculate cleanliness and the peaceful environment. “The divine energy here reflects the immense power of Indian culture. Prime Minister Modi’s dedication to promoting India’s spiritual values is extraordinary,” she said.

Ayodhya is witnessing a continuous stream of pilgrims from across India as well. Pune resident Shiva Narayan described the city’s development as the outcome of the strong willpower of Modi and Yogi Adityanath. Local lyricist Vikalp Trivedi echoed similar sentiments, saying the Ram Temple represents the fulfilment of an age-old dream, and the saffron flag set to be hoisted on the 25th will symbolise this historic moment.

Hospitality Sector Witnesses Record Growth

The booming restaurant industry is reshaping Ayodhya’s economic landscape. Shailendra Kumar Awasthi, manager of the Udupi to Mumbai Restaurant, said four restaurants are currently operational in the city, while nearly ten new projects are underway. He added that out of the targeted ₹100 crore investment, ₹70 crore has already been infused.

Their outlet sees a daily footfall of 2,000–3,000 visitors, jumping to nearly 5,000 on special occasions. Monthly business has surged to ₹5–6 crore, creating hundreds of jobs for local youth and neighbouring districts. Awasthi said the visible changes in Ayodhya reflect the effective implementation of the state government’s development vision.

Guesthouses and Small Hotels Also Flourish

Smaller establishments are experiencing parallel growth. Durgesh Verma, manager of Kaka Guest House near Sabzi Mandi, said their daily earnings have grown from ₹3,000 to nearly ₹15,000. The property now remains booked on most days, with a sharp rise in foreign guests driving further income.

Ayodhya’s Global Transformation

Steady inflow of devotees around the Ram Temple, Hanumangarhi, Sarayu Ghat and Ram Path has made Ayodhya vibrant throughout the day. The renewed buzz across the temple town indicates that the transformation is not temporary but a long-term shift.

Ayodhya today is not just a religious site—it is an emerging world-class spiritual city equipped with modern infrastructure. The booming hotel industry, growing foreign footfall and the expanding hospitality sector underline the city’s rising economic strength and its new global identity as a spiritual capital.
