Lucknow: An awareness program on “Digital Banking & Cyber Frauds: Risks & Mitigation Matters” was organized today by AWOKE India Foundation under the aegis of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) at the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, University of Lucknow. The initiative targeted M.A. students of Journalism and Mass Communication (Semester I and III), aiming to enhance their understanding of safe digital banking practices and cyber security.
The event began with a welcome of dignitaries by Dr. Kritika Agrawal, Assistant Professor, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, followed by an address from Mr. Pravin Kumar Dwivedi, Founder & President of AWOKE India Foundation. Dwivedi highlighted the growing significance of digital banking and the responsibilities of citizens in practicing safe financial habits.
A comprehensive session on cyber security and RBI guidelines was conducted by Prabir Das, Financial Educator at AWOKE India Foundation, who outlined common cyber threats, preventive measures, and the role of regulatory frameworks in protecting consumers.
Ravjeet Mahajan, Assistant Vice President (Training), AWOKE India, discussed the expanding scope of digital banking and emphasized the role of effective communication in spreading financial literacy. She encouraged students to act as responsible communicators to promote safe digital practices.

The program was graced by Dr. Saurabh Malviya, Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, who lauded the initiative and stressed the importance of financial literacy and cyber awareness, particularly among future media professionals.
Interactive sessions on RBI awareness modules allowed students to gain practical insights into digital banking safety, cyber fraud detection, and mitigation strategies. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Prabir Das. Participants expressed that the workshop provided valuable knowledge to navigate the digital financial ecosystem securely.
