Athrise Championship 2025 Successfully Held in Lucknow for the First Time

Lucknow: In a major step towards promoting school-level sports in the city, Lucknow hosted the first-ever Athrise Championship 2025, an impressive athletic event that brought together more than 2,000 students from over 150 schools. The championship not only showcased young sporting talent but also reflected the city’s growing emphasis on a vibrant sports culture.

The event took place at the state-of-the-art 8-lane synthetic track of the 35th PAC Battalion in Mahanagar. Organized by the Lucknow Athletics Association, the championship ensured national-level standards with trained officials and volunteers overseeing technical accuracy, safety, and fair play throughout the competition. The highly coordinated effort fostered a sense of trust and enthusiasm among participants, parents, and schools.

Students competed across multiple age categories in a wide range of athletics events, including sprint races, relays, middle-distance runs, long jump, shot put, javelin throw and several other field events. Each performance reflected remarkable discipline, energy, and dedication to the sport.

Chief Guest G.S. Naveen Kumar, Secretary of the Irrigation Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh, addressed the young athletes and highlighted the role of sports in character building. “Sports teach us discipline, and discipline is the foundation of responsible citizens and a better society,” he said. He added that such school-level initiatives help build confidence, focus, and healthy lifestyle habits among children.

One of the most uplifting moments of the championship was the distribution of more than 650 medals. This not only celebrated the winners’ achievements but also acknowledged the hard work and commitment of every participant who competed with passion and sportsmanship. The moment brought pride and joy to students, families, and schools alike.

The event witnessed the presence of school principals, senior coaches, representatives from sports organizations, and administrative officials. All appreciated the initiative as a meaningful effort toward strengthening the sports infrastructure in Lucknow and offering students professional exposure at an early stage. They emphasized that such championships will motivate more children to pursue sports in the future.

Athrise, the organizing platform, is a dedicated initiative aimed at reinforcing grassroots sports development in India. It focuses on building better coordination among schools, coaches, and parents, providing young athletes with quality guidance and opportunities to nurture sporting talent from the foundation level.

The success of the Athrise Championship 2025 marks a promising beginning for future school-level sporting initiatives in Lucknow.
