Lucknow: On the eighth day of the Uttarakhand Mahotsav, at the Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant Mountain Cultural Garden on Birbal Sahni Marg, groups of Dance Uttarakhand Dance, Naachega Bharat, traditional Jhora, local artists and artists from Uttarakhand presented various programmes and made Sham-e-Awadh lively on the banks of Gomti. The colourful costumed Chholiya group from Almora Uttarakhand attracted the attention of the audience by playing melodious tunes of their musical instruments and showing amazing stunts. The Chholiya group will continue to display their beautiful art every day till the end of the Festival.
General Secretary of the Maha Parishad, Bharat Singh Bisht expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the immense support of State Bank of India, Life Insurance Corporation of India Limited, National Thermal Power Corporation Limited and SBI Life. Along with the sale of other products at the stalls, there is a huge crowd at the stalls of woolen and warm clothes due to the onset of mild cold.
Media in-charge Rajendra Singh Kanwal told that a medical checkup and medicine distribution camp was organized by Dr. B.S. Negi at the festival venue . The Maha Parishad expressed its gratitude to him, in this Dr. B.S. Negi (General Physician), Dr. Nirmala Joshi (Pediatrician), Dr. S. Sagar (Consultant Physician), Dr. C.P. Gaur (General Physician), Dr. Shobh Nath (Cardiologist), Dr. Balram Yadav (General Physician), medicine distribution- Shobha Rawat etc. had special cooperation. Free checkup and medicine distribution camp of K.K. Hospital has also been organized for ten days in the festival.
The team of Maha Parishad mainly includes Convener Diwan Singh Adhikari, Awadhesh Kothari, Pradeep Chand, Suresh Pandey, Bhuwan Patwal, Puran Chandra Bhadaula, Bhuwan Pathak, Sundar Singh Bisht, Jagat Singh Rana, Anil Pandey, Ramesh Chandra Singh Adhikari, Lal Singh Bisht, Pan Singh, Sunil Upreti, Mohan Pant and other officers and members who are working with full dedication and commitment to make the festival a success.
Today’s Chief Guest O P Shrivastava, MLA, Eastern Vidhan Sabha, Lucknow, Special Guest- Dilip Kumar Gupta, Additional Director, Directorate of Culture, Guest- Sheel Dwivedi, Assistant Director, North Central Zone Cultural Center Prayagraj and the officers of Maha Parishad jointly inaugurated the evening programs by lighting the lamp. The officers of Maha Parishad welcomed the guests by presenting them with a flower bouquet, shawl and a symbol.
From 2 PM:- Competitions were conducted under the guidance of Women’s Wing President Pushpa Vaishnav, Sunita Kanwal, Vidya Singh, Rajeshwari Rawat. First in solo dance- Shreshtha Tandon, second- Arya Singh, third- Shrivarma and in solo singing- First- Deveshwari Pawar, second- Leela Bhandari, third- Mayank Singh and judges- Kumaon Nightingale- Vimala Pant and folk singer Malti Verma.
From 4 PM – Sur Taal Sangam- Beautiful singing of Bollywood bouquet (film music) by 10 artists under the leadership of Jaya Srivastava, Sangeet Sanskriti Foundation- Rajnigandha Singh led- Rajni Singh, Seema, Gudiya, Sarika, Rekha, Ritaniya, Archana, Meenu Kumaoni folk dance, BRT Dance Academy Sahara State- Group led by Ms. Lipika presented devotional prayer, Uttarakhand folk dance and mesmerized the audience. Sholo dance by Shri Verma, Sholo dance by Hargun Chopra and Heart and Soul under the leadership of Shailendra Singh – Riddhi Joshi, Kavya Shri Verma, Hargun Chopra, Adhya Tiwari, Arna presented dance based on classical music and received a lot of applause.
Performance of 8 teams of second round of Jhoda competition – 1. Gangotri Vihar, Gomti Nagar – under the leadership of Damayanti Negi, 2. Mayapuri Uttarouli – under the leadership of Kunti Rawat (Sonia Bisht), 3. Uttarakhand Jan Kalyan Samiti Vikas Nagar under the leadership of Hema Tiwari, 4. Gomti Nagar – under the leadership of Radhika Bora, 5. Devi Bhoomi PGI Vrindavan Area – under the leadership of Prem Singh Bisht, 6. Indira Nagar Extension – under the leadership of Maya Bisht, 7. Bahadurpur – under the leadership of Meena Bisht (Sonia Bisht), 8. Sugamou, Indira Nagar – under the leadership of Ganga Negi – all the eight teams tried to make a place in the next round by giving a beautiful presentation of Uttarakhand’s group folk dance Jhora. Performances of 3 teams in the second round of Naachega Bharat: 1. Kumaonchal Nagar Group – under the leadership of Renu Kandpal, 2. Nritya Dance Group – under the leadership of Shailendra Singh, 3. Dance Group PGI Vrindavan under the leadership of Shri Prem Singh Bisht – All the three teams impressed the audience with their excellent dance performances and tried hard to make a place in the next round. Performances by 4 teams in the third round of Dance Uttarakhand Dance, Season-3 1. Umang Group, Kalyanpur – led by Sushila Negi, 2. Uttarakhand Mahaparishad Rangmandal – led by Mahendra Galakoti and choreography by Ashu Raturi, 3. Johar Group Lucknow – led by Nanda Rawat, 4. Dev Bhoomi Jan Sarokar Sanskritik Samiti, Gomti Nagar – led by Balwant Vangi – All the four dance teams rocked the stage, received applause from the audience and tried to get more points to reach the next round.
The famous dancer of Uttarakhand, whose choreography is currently seen in every song of Uttarakhand, Shri Ankit Kumar kept the audience captivated with his beautiful performances. The team of Hansa Nritya Natya Kala Vikas Society, Dehradun, Garhwal presented a dance performance in collaboration with the Culture Department, Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
Under the leadership of Indu Bhatt Mamgai, the presentations of famous Garhwal folk dances like Thadiya-Chaufula, Jhumailo etc. were highly appreciated by the audience.
